Bucking
Saws
up to six feet in length slice through twelve inches of aspen with the speed of
a modern-day power saw.
| Underhand
Chop Using
five-pound Australian speed axes, lumberjacks stand atop and chop through twelve-inch
logs. |
Additional
events which are included in our shows but are not pictured above are:
Axe Throwing: With
all the precision of a dart board champion, our competitors will aim for the bulls-eye.
The dart - a five pound, double-bitted ax. Obstacle
Pole Chokerman's Race: Coordination and speed are the determining factors
in this intense race. First, using a cant hook, competitors roll, lift and position
a log. Then, like a gymnast on the balance beam, they grab a chain saw, run up
a slanted log, saw the top off, run back down, and return the chain saw to its
pocket. Finally, they return to the original log, wrap a choker around it and
pull the log to the ground. Good competitors can finish this event in about 30
seconds. Tree
Topping: Just like old-time tree fallers, athletes climb to the top of a
tree, secure themselves in, and saw the top off. Chain
Saw Carving: At the end of each performance, one lucky winner will take home
a chair, chain-saw carved and autographed by one of our lumberjacks.
Comedy Jousting: Watch
as two clowns duel it out using jousting poles and a lot of balance.
